And then there are math problems that kids like to do and can't get sufficient of as they are so fun. Several folks never see that second sort of math problems but they are available for teachers and folks to use. The more we engage the minds of young folks with the second sort of math problems, the more success can be done in getting the young folk happy about math. Whilst some scholars have a natural affinity to math, others have to work to get good at it. Part of the fact that it just takes additional work to beat mathematics as a discipline.

The teaching and the problems that are given as homework stay at a high level of condensation meaning that kids struggle to see the cost of what they do learning math. And without real life application problems, scholars fail to "connect" to math in a practical way. In several cases, those students that were doing poorly were only reacting badly to that first kind of math problem.

If using creative and well thought out math problems that truly engage the scholars surfaces some real math ability in some of those scholars that where were failing before, that could be a great result from working a little harder at the craft of teaching.

The "good kind" of math problems can take on many forms and use a lot of methods.
